We are very pleased to introduce the British Drum Co. Legend SE series. Drawing from our shell bank stock we thought we'd build a special concept kit showing just one of many options that is possible to build from our stock today.

We have been fans of BDC since the beginning and we really love the build quality and sound of these drums! The British Drum Company has fast become a big name in drums, and even better is that it’s being made in the UK! Founded in 2015 by Award-winning master drum-maker Keith Keough, Kasabians Ian Matthews,  Pub Landlord Al Murray, Stu Warmington and Alan Kitching this brand is already going places.

THE LEGEND SE (SPECIAL EDITION)

What makes this kit a special edition is the Book Matched Spalted Beech exterior finish which for a limited time is available from British Drum Co’s private stock.

On first looks at this drum kit what really excites us is BDC’s incredible attention to detail. The beautiful Chrome B-Badge, the vent hole is also a secondary badge (inside and outside the drum and then there is the stunning new hologram badge inside each drum too. The hand rubbed Spalted Beech finish is flawless and the internal reinforcement rings are finished too. Whilst much of this is more based on the look of the drum rather than the sound, it goes to show how committed BDC are to fully realising the complete build of this product. The Palladium lug, bass drum claw and tom brackets are all made by BDC and that is before we talk about the shells. In a world where many drum makers are outsourcing a great deal of components that is certainly not the case with BDC and it makes for a superior looking and feeling product.

The Legend SE series shells are 10 ply Scandinavian Birch, these are cross laminated plies that utilise BDC’s signature Cold Press Moulding technique which results in a 6mm thick shell. 2 ply reinforcement rings are then added top and bottom to create a super strong shell, BDC then precision cut the 45 degree bearing edges.

This drum kit is up there with the finest Birch kits ever made. It has a beautiful low end tone, but can be tuned up for tonnes of character. The kit is very comfy across the tuning spectrum and will suit all kinds of genres and will be an incredible kit for Live or the Studio. It’s a really fun to play kit too and it sounds great out of the boxes with a full compliment of Remo USA drum heads.

The Palladium hardware is fitted across the entire kit, the lug draws inspiration from the Art Deco period, its a lug that loves lights and looks great from all angles. The Lug comes in two sizes - the smaller one being used on Toms and Floor Toms and the Larger one for the Bass Drum. The Bass Drum Claw continues the design cues, again constructed using cast alloy. Finally the Palladium tom brackets have a unique vertically aligned attachment that allow the shell to resonate freely. Another great feature of this clamp is the ability to work with standard 10.5mm - 12.5mm L arms making BDC fully compatible with all your favourite mounting hardware. All the Palladium brackets on both the floor tom and rack toms have self-aligning and visually integrated memory locks too.
