We are extremely pleased to introduce these exclusive Groove Drum Co. Pancake drum kits here at Drumazon. Groove Drum Co. are based in Portugal, they are a family run business, their drums are all hand made by Luís Teixeira. We've been talking to Luís for a long time about collaborating with him, Luís suggested taking one of their best selling and unique products and making it in some exclusive finishes that we could offer here in the U.K.

What we love about the Groove Pancake kit is that the build is completely professional using Groove's same methods and ethos that they apply to their standard size professional sets. Groove also produce a bespoke case which is one of the most beautiful cases we have ever seen that transports the entire kit. The case is hand made by Lette Teixeira the design, quality of materials and build are just incredible.

About the Pancake Kit:

Luís is very serious about reducing the impact on all the shells he builds in order to maximise the note and sustain achievable from his drums. To enhance these properties Groove shells are cold press moulded, this allows the glue used in the process to dry naturally and for the shells to vibrate more freely. Groove use minimal hardware on their shells and mainly brass in order to enhance the shell vibrations.

The Pancake kit has thin mahogany shells, the whole kit is balanced to have great note intervals and has an extremely wide tuning range. The kit can be tuned from very low to extremely high and delivers great sounds for any genre you may wish to use it for.

We've been in search of a great sounding kit that is properly portable for a long time, whilst there are lots of great compact kits, the truth is many are simply still quite clunky to carry around requiring lots of separate cases. Groove have developed a great sounding 4 piece set that completely packs down in to one case. This could be combined with a lightweight hardware set meaning that you could carry the whole set in to a venue in one trip from the car.

Exclusive Finish

Luís asked us to choose some finishes for the Drumazon edition of this kit. We choose three Grade A veneer finishes. The kit shown here is Walnut Burl
