We are extremely excited to show you this Ludwig Legacy Classic Exotic Maple drum set. Legacy Exotic is the top-of-the-line 3 ply Maple / Poplar / Maple formula shell from Ludwig which is the legendary Ludwig sound from their golden shell building era. Whilst the shell delivers that beautiful vintage sound captured on so many iconic recordings and live performances the Legacy Maple benefits from Ludwig's 21st Century finish and build quality making this series a complete triple threat.

For the last 6 decades and counting drummers, their bands and their recording teams have demanded the benchmark sound that only this shell formula can produce, these drums are controlled, melodic and tone packed, once you start playing a Legacy you simply won't want to stop!

The secret to the Legacy sound is the very specific shell formula which is a 1/16" Maple Outer Ply, 1/8" Poplar Core Ply, 1/16" Maple Inner Ply with 1/4" Solid Maple Reinforcement Rings top and bottom.

The cross-laminated American Poplar centre ply delivers the focus which in turn is fused with the vibrant resonance of the inner and outer Maple plies. This unique shell combination is further stabilised by a specially-rounded bearing edge with single-ply reinforcement rings.

Tradition, Craftsmanship and Visionary Excellence

The kit we have here was specially ordered, it's finished in Heritage Blue Imperial Coat with White Resa Cote interiors which truly make this kit feel like a 1960's era set. We opted for Mach Lugs, Vibraband tom mount, Classic tom and floor tom brackets, Baseball Bat internal dampeners and Elite bass drum spurs.
