Here we have a Sia Myrtle solid stave shell snare drum finished. For any one who doesn’t know Sia yet, these drums are hand crafted by Sia Seysan out in New South Wales, Australia. Matt Parr is the man responsible for bringing them to UK shores.
The attention to detail on the drums is flawless and the drums come well appointed with high quality hardware components, heads and wires. Coming from Australia, featuring many hard woods indigenous to the area and being built using stave construction these drums are very similar to the old Brady Block snare drums, there is great volume, impressive mid range tone and plenty of tuning range. All Sia drums have a rock solid construction and are signed and dated inside.
14 X 6.5 MYRTLE
Whilst we have dealt in drums with Myrtle outer veneers, we have not come across a solid shell until now. This 14 x 6.5 has a great depth of tone and is equally happy at low range throughout to high tuning. This snare is very comfortable in mid tuning through to lower and even wetter sounding registers but it is equally happy under high tension delivering almost as much bite as the smaller 13 & 12 sizes.
