Here we have a the 14 x 5.5 Hammered Steel snare drum from the Tamburo Metal Series range. The hammered steel is a single bead 1mm steel shell snare drum with the Tamburo Curve edge.
The Metal series uses the small version Tamburo ST lug. The Strong Traction Lug is a very serious piece of design. The long lug design creates a stable drum head tension which enhances the mechanical strength of each full rotation turn of the rod. The unique design allows the shell not to be loaded with any tension and remains free to fully conduct air movement produced by the strike of the head. There are 4 main components to the ST Lug, 1) the ABS anti-vibration contacts at the top and bottom. 2) The 0.6mm Alloy Pipe travelling between the two ABS points. 3) The stainless steel covers which case the sides of ABS points. 4) The brass pin.
The Metal Series come with 2.2mm Triple flanged hoops, 20 strand steel wires and Tamburo's proprietary design snare system.
All Tamburo snares come fitted as standard with Evans USA drum heads, the Hammered Steel comes with Evans UV1 batter over 300 series Reso.
