GRETSCH USA CUSTOM 14 X 8 SNARE DRUM BURNT ORANGE GLOSS, CIRCA 1980'S (PRE-LOVED)
Here we have one of those drums you just dream of seeing. This is a formidable Gretsch Square Badge Snare. 14 x 8 in size, Burnt orange in colour, all fully original from the 1980’s and complete with Lightning Throw Off, Die-Cast Hoops, 20 individual lugs and internal tone control. The drum is in great condition, we have fitted it with new heads, a Pure Sound Twisted snare wire which really sets this drum off. This snare is ready to go back out to work!
The USA Custom snares have been replicated on countless occasions but nothing quite comes close to the real deal. This one can crank up high, its great for Jazz, Funk & Fusion Genres but it is equally at home in Rock and styles that require low tuning registers. This is an incredibly sensitive drum too, don’t be fooled by the depth, it tracks the lightest of touches but has the head room to deal with the most powerful of rimshots too! The look and colour are timeless too, Burnt Orange is certainly one of Gretsch’s finest colours, this will set off the look of any kit it sits behind.
At the heart of each drum is the legendary 6-ply Gretsch-formula maple/gum shell with its expertly formed 30-degree bearing edge, the exclusive "Silver Sealer” interior finish and rugged die cast hoops. The custom drum building team uses time-tested, classic finishing techniques such as this nitro-cellulose lacquers.
This drum has been someones pride and joy for a long time, it has been treated with incredible care and it is now available to join a new drum collection. These rarely ever come up especially in this condition.
