Here we have a stunning DS Rebel Custom Shop all Maple drum set! If you are looking for a top of the line professional kit at a great price, these really will be hard to beat! DS Drums are from Italy and are a relative newcomer to the UK market. Founded by Luca Deorsola in 1995, DS has been making drums for their home market for quite sometime and now they are venturing worldwide. The companies focus is on its Rebel Custom Shop drum kits and snares which they offer in a huge variety of shell types and finishes.
What is very exciting about DS is the incredible sound quality, look and value they deliver.
RCS ALL MAPLE
From the DS Custom Shop in Italy, DS start with only select, responsibly harvested wood. The Rebel Custom Shop drums feature proprietary bearing edges and multi thickness shell technology. The kit here is All Maple which is the most popular wood for drum making, maple is a hardwood that produces maximum resonance, projection and attack. DS Handcraft the RCS in Italy using a top class Maple combination. The Maple combination on this kit is a mix of American Hard Maple from Michigan USA combined with a soft European Maple. The DS all Maple shell offers a smooth warmth with a hint of brightness that responds effortlessly and allows the kit to really cut through in any musical situation.
These drums offer an exciting new bearing edge proprietary combination that yield thrilling new sonic possibilities, R1 45 degree on toms, R2 45 degree on floor toms and R2 60 degree on bass drums. They come with the DS vintage style 2.3mm inward hoops and all 5ply proprietary configuration and Remo Ambassador Coated heads on both sides.
Rebel Custom Shop Finishing Options
The kit we have here is finished in a very limited Black to Natural Burst Solid Satin over Exotic Fossil Beech, this colour is incredible. To further enhance the finish this kit also has Black Nickel fittings throughout.
Multi Thickness Shell Technology
All DS shells on the RCS all Maple kit are 5 ply but the thickness changes depending on the tom size. The 10" tom has the thinnest shell, the 12" is a standard thickness shell, the 14" is a medium shell, the 16" floor tom and 20" Bass drum have the thickest shell. By having each drum shell at a different thickness the volume and resonance is far more even across the toms, this really makes a difference compared to kits that have the same shell thickness right around.
