Here we have a Tamburo Opera drum kit in custom ordered sizes. Tamburo is a new brand to Drumazon which we believe fits in really well amongst our line up of makers offering many unique design concepts. There is a lot to like about these drums and many subtle features that make an incredible amount of difference to the end result of these drums, demonstrating how much thought Tamburo have put in to their drum kits and snare drums.

These drums are unlike anything we've seen before. The staves which each measure 6mm are made from 5 layers of Birch, the external ply is HPL (high pressure laminate) which allows for the unique finishing appearance on the drums. To produce such a light yet solid polyhedral cylinder, the shell is internally bound using beech reinforcing rings.

Tamburo have found that a 3mm Diecast hoop works the best with this shell set up. Diecast hoops are found throughout the range of Toms, Floor and Snares in this series. All mounted toms are on RIMS isolation mounting systems to allow the shells to fully resonate. The floor tom brackets are equipped with anti vibration gaskets.

The Opera series uses the Tamburo ST lug. The Strong Traction Lug is a very serious piece of design. The long lug design creates a stable drum head tension which enhances the mechanical strength of each full rotation turn of the rod. The unique design allows the shell not to be loaded with any tension and remains free to fully conduct air movement produced by the strike of the head. There are 4 main components to the ST Lug, 1) the ABS anti-vibration contacts at the top and bottom. 2) The 0.6mm Alloy Pipe travelling between the two ABS points. 3) The stainless steel covers which case the sides of ABS points. 4) The brass pin.

Against the trend, Tamburo offer all their kits with a matching snare drum which too is sized specifically for the configuration. The Opera kit e have here comes with a 14 x 6.5 snare drum that includes 3mm Die-Cast hoops, 25 strand steel wires and Tamburo's proprietary design snare system. The fused block lug allows for great feeling and precise adjustment. A small magnet is fitted within the mechanism to ensure stability and grip over time. The die cast butt plate features a bridge design reducing shell contact whilst maintaining good grip of the wire.

All Tamburo kits come fitted as standard with high specification Evans USA drum heads which means the kit is ready to play straight out of the box.

The drum set we have here is finished in Flamed Black from the Flame line finishes which is just jaw dropping, we can't do the finish justice in the pictures, this is one that really needs to be seen, please see our video for a better look at the execution of this finish.
