We are very pleased to welcome Varus Drums to Drumazon. Here we have a really striking looking snare which is a 6 ply shell comprising of 5 plies of Mahogany with one outer ply of Royal Ebony. The figuring on this Royal Ebony just draws you completely in. Every time we look at it you can pick out different patterns and images, this finish is alive!
The story of Varus Drums starts in 2013 with Thomas Mantovani (owner and founder). Thomas wanted to produce drums with an appearance that is more sophisticated, modern and casual, inspired by the great Italian motor racing brands and the passion reflected in their products. In addition, Varus offers beautiful, high quality, natural wood finishes.
They build drums in both ply and stave options making their range incredibly versatile. This 14 x 7 Mahogany / Royal Ebony drum is a 6 ply 5.4mm shell, the throw off is a black trick multi step, the bearing edges are 45 degree, the hoops are DieCast and the tube lugs and tension rods are all finished in Black Nickel for a very striking look set against the Royal Ebony.
